Hailing from Zürich, Switzerland, TIMOR was founded in 2003 and today stands for violent yet melodic death/thrash metal and energetic live shows. AEONS OF DESPITE, the first full-length album, manages to capture TIMOR’s prowess in new, technical extreme metal. Brought to life by Dave Schlumpf, Panos Batsilas and Nico Schläpfer, TIMOR's goal was initially to create modern thrash metal with hardcore influences. Shortly after the band's formation, bass player Lukas Villiger joined the band and took over vocal duties as well shortly thereafter. With the release of its first promotional CD and relentless gigging in winter 2004, the quartet managed to make a name for itself. Accumulated positive feedback soon led TIMOR to sharing the stage with such bands as EKTOMORF, MNEMIC, NIGHTRAGE, DEW-SCENTED and ROTTING CHRIST. In December 2006, Timor set out to conquer Europe, supporting Swedish black metal veterans SETHERIAL, an undertaking which not only turned out to be a great success but which also blessed the band with valuable experience. In 2008, lead guitarist Simon Burri and bass player Lukas Studer joined the ranks of TIMOR. With this new, refreshed line-up and new, original material, the band produced their debut album AEONS OF DESPITE, which was released on November 22, 2008. Prepare for a raging storm of death/thrash metal, replete with crushing mosh parts, doublebass tempests and the occasional melodic break. The top-notch production adds to the punch and transparency of these eleven killer compositions. | Label: Quam Libet Records Distribution: Non Stop Music (CH) Buy: Swiss Metal Mailorder Listen and buy: | ||
